Guest
I've been reading a few of the posts already regarding helmets and took the advice on them and visited a nearby store to try some on. I found that the arai helmets felt the best for me so i have decided to go with these.Anyway the reason for this post is this, i was just wondering if anyone is aware of the main differences between the Arai Viper GT and the Arai S4 Helmets. I am looking at purchasing one of the two and was wondering if the Viper justified the extra cost? I'm new to biking and would appreciate some help as i dont want to cut corners with regards to helmet safety. Thanks for your help. Guest
as far as safety goes there will be nothing to choose between them . I used to have the rx7xx which was the top of the range but i was in the trade. I have a lower one now.Its got slightly less venting but thats it. I think youll find they all use the same visor Quote Link to comment https://themotorbikeforum.co.uk/topic/5221-arai-helmets/#findComment-112740 Share on other sites
Hoody
Most folk buy lids as a fashion item - you have gone about it the right way - really it is just a case of which you prefer. Both lids are high quality, both reach all standards required and are both excellent choices.Which is your preference? Go for that one. Guest
Arais are good helmets, there are no lesser or better ones in the Arai range, it's just fancy colours, vents etc. A plain black one is cheaper than the latest race rep colours etc. Quote Link to comment https://themotorbikeforum.co.uk/topic/5221-arai-helmets/#findComment-112742 Share on other sites
Guest
I've just realised that i meant the chaser not the s4 (that was an AGV one i tried on). Thanks for your replies. From the sound of it there isn't a great deal of difference. Thanks again for your help. Hoody
Thought you meant the Airoh S4 and Arai Viper -Thought it was a strange mix - the Airoh is a MotoX lid! Guest
each of the different model Arai's have different skull shapes. My head is a Viper GT shape. The Chaser I believe is heavier than the Viper.Quick tip for ya:Go with a single colour lid (race reps cost more)Try for size in your nearest dealers, find one that fits properly and comfortably THEN:log onto http://www.gearchangeonline.com and buy from them as it'll be upto £100 cheaper than any Pheonix supplied Arai. It'll be from Europe so will be exactly the same lid and skull shape as the one you tried on. Only difference will be if you need the lid custom tailor-fitted to your head as then you'll need to buy the cheek pads as well.
