EmmBee
LAKELAND INVASION 2The first one attracted some interest but no takers from the MBF. Let me just say that the first event was a great success with like-minded people all eating and drinking over the weekend. Many people who had never met before the event keeping in touch as friends after. You are invited TO EAT, DRINK AND PARTY on the weekend of 28th to 30th November 2008 at High Wray in the Lakes. The price will be £70 plus £10 damage deposit including food and drink. So you are looking at over 9 weeks notice to save and prepare. Same format as before - £20 NONE REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT - secures place. Only pay the deposit when you are certain you can come. Yes it will be dark nights etc, so you can ride or drive across (car share). Yes it is a bit rural - but hey that's what makes it the great location that it is, and why we can do what we want all through the night. There will still be the same number of hours of socialising and having a great time though. If it pans out to be good weather etc we can arrange a ride out again on the Saturday. Alternatively, we can have a quiz, play cards, we can think of plenty I'm sure. We will be cosy with the log burning heater going in the common room whatever happens - and it will be a few less metres to the fridge. You can still camp if you want to - same terms as before. At the moment proposing a similar tried and tested format and looking for around 20-25 people.FRI - Arrive, Meet, Eat Curry, nibbles and DrinkSAT - Full breakfastRide outand/or Go for walkand/or I still have to tell the story of the stubborn turnipand/or quiz and games inside then start drinkingAny other ideas?BBQ - eat and drink.SUNBreakfastDepart up to 5pm.I have 2 weeks to test the water then pay a deposit.High Wray is also available over Christmas. There are many people including me who are not at all keen on Christmas, and there is an opportunity to have a Christmasless Christmas. I have 2 others interested. Basically a party weekend with no reference to Christmas and from the 23rd to the 27th of December - Know anybody?I welcome any feedback, suggestions, entertainment ideas, etc.If there is interest I will post some of the photo's and feedback from the first event. EmmBee
Brilliant weekend, thanks go especially to emmbee and miss sparkle for organising/ entertaining. but i would like to thank everyone involved for a fantastic time and probably the most fun weekend of my life (so far).FatbstrdpieeaterRedcarWow, what a weekend we've just enjoyed..........fantastic entertainment in the form of a sister and brother comedy double act, great food, wonderful location and sooooooooo much booze AND a brilliant ride out over the 5 passes ( although please don't ask me to name them!!!). Even the weather was good....Thanks Emmbee and Miss Sparkle you are both truly are amazing . Please book me in for the next one. PrettyladyBradford________________________________________ Wat a weekend, got home from work on mon and was stil recovering, slept from the moment i got in till it was time to go to bed....haha!!! I must say i met a load of great people this weekend and wish the rest of yous had came along as you couldnt believe how good it was, especially considering the mear pennies that it cost, all told the whole weekend cost me less than 100 and that is including petrol there back and the 5 passes!!!!! The only complaint emmbee is that i have spent most of my week sitting on the loo as the system has been ram packe with waste food. all of which was top notch, and most loviningly (read insanely) prepaired by miss sparkle. the entertainment was great, embee and miss sparkle made the weekend, i have a little vid i wil post once i get it sorted out. And finally i will be informing the parents that they will be required for baby sitting duties as soon as i know dates for next event!!!! NinjaNakaBirtley____________________________________________ Double dito We all had a great weekend... EmmBee and Miss Sparkle were THE Stars of the weekend, these two wonderful people gave it all they had, and more. They had to stand in long queues at supermarket, used loads of fuel travelling from one shop to another for the special offers, they went into some shops 20 times to buy 'restricted purchase' items. Why.... because they wanted everyone to have a great weekend... well they certainly archived that, we ALL had a great, fantastic, brilliant, excellent time. EmmBee
This is not a camping site where you rough it in the cold. The buildings are in their own grounds and noise is not a problem. The rooms are centrally heated with indoor toilets, and showers etc. You simply walk from the sleeping block to the common room. The large common room has a log burning fire and there will be a wide range of music. Three large fridges chill the drinks. There is a payphone, electric, gas and mobile reception - some networks better than others. Plenty of secure parking for cars and bikes. There will be a great bunch of people there. It has to be one of the cheapest events around at £70 including accommodation, drink and food. Get there and you needn't put your hand in your pocket for the entire weekend.Free to do what you want, when you want.Looking for 25 people, presently 14 confirmed. You're welcome to ask a few friends, relatives, fellow bikers etc to come with you if you prefer.Party on Fri and Sat nights and full meals. Full breakfasts, Snacks and soft drinks, tea and coffee etc through weekend.Happy to answer any questions or suggestions etc.I'm uploading some photo's from the last event very soon. EmmBee
I know that it is early days, and few people want to commit themselves to an event at this stage. However, I have to pay the deposit to secure the venue. Is anyone interested in coming on this weekend - feel free to chirp up?It's a great, cheap, weekend with a load of bikers who are there just to eat, drink and have a laugh. The other group have also been before. So if you are interested in coming along please shout up now, as there is not enough for me to pay a deposit on it. EmmBee
At an official meeting held at the wetlands, all the children present agreed that every child attending the weekend has to bring a game to play at the weekend. Any child not bringing something will be bullied and progged with skewers. They will also be called four eyes even if they don't wear glasses as it is such a cruel insult.Ideally toys should electrocute, sever, pepper spray or the likes as a punishment to the loser.Tom don't forget "Mousetrap".I'm really looking forward to this weekend again.Tom is kindly bringing a wii sports. We need to try to exist for around 8 hours without a telly. It will be hard but doable.Any games or entertainment ideas - I'm all ears at the moment - after the weekend I may be down to one SmileFEEDBACK REQUIREDProposed outline so farFRI Arrive 2pm onwards, set the place up, log fire going and chill the beer etc.Tea, coffeeNibbles, drinkMild chicken Curry around 7 - is that OK? It will be mild, but Miss Sparkle makes a additive (I think it's called redex) for the hot curry people. It was vicious. So if you like it hotter shout up now please and she'll make some redex. Last time some said the curry was late and they were starving. Some wanted it later. This time you can just help yourself when you want all through the night. Then will be plenty for late eaters and enough to banish the munchies.Cheesecakes and sweets.Who wants a nan?Sat 6am Aerobics and stretching class.or bit of a lie in, then breakfast at around 10am.Entertain ourselves, games, tea, coffee, snacks, Pasta, Jumbo hot dogs and Spaghetti or toast or whatever if people fancy something to eat.Funnily enough then start drinking. Then BBQ at around 6 pm.Nibbles drink, then finally attack those munchies in the early hours.Cakes and sweetsSun6am Heavy cardio and sparring class.or lie in and then Breakfast at say 10 amWe have to tidy up which does not take long so long as we don't trash the joint, and everyone mucks in, yes that includes the skiving bas***ds as wellWe can then leave up until say 4pm or even later see how it goes. Drink tea and coffee, finish the treats and snacks etc.People there at 1-2pm we can have a meal. The grounds are gorgeous and are great just to chill out on the Sunday.Pack all stuff away. All none perishable stuff will be taken back for use at the next event.I have provisionally booked the place again LAKELAND INVASION 3 29th - 31ST May 2009BETTER THAN CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN - 20 days to goPLACES REMAININGThere are around 4 places left.____________________________________________________________________ATTENDING - anything not right or you want changed let me know.CONFIRMED Total 22 17 Male 5 Female. EmmBee
Hi TCThis is a social event for bikers. I have it in four forums. The first event was mainly from one forum, this event is about a 50:50 split from 2 forums. It's a great value for money fun weekend where we have the run of the place for the whole weekend. We all made a lot of friends at the last one who we keep in touch with. The bikers are from different regions, ride a wide variety of bikes, are from different backgrounds and jobs. However, we are share the common interest of bikes and get on great.Whatever you're doing that weekend have a good one.
