How do you tell when your carbs are unbalanced i've just de-restricted my bike and now its not running right im getting a couple of flat spots higher up in the revs, i spoke to a mechanic briefly today and he said it could be the carbs was just wondering what the symptoms were?

Cheers, Tom.

carb balance only rally effects the slow running of the bike not at high revs

it balances out the amount of air been sucked into each pot

an eratic rev counter is a sign of out of balance carbs but my guess would be you need the bike setting up properly

have you got a aftermarket exhaust on ? if so stick the origanal one on and see how it is :)

If it had an air flow restriction fitted it probably will need to be re jetted (little bits in the carb)

What colour are the plugs..if they are VERY light in colour you may be running very lean as you have more air goting through the engine now.

haven't managed to get a plug out yet as their so bloody hard to get too, i've spoken to the people who restricted it and they said that the jetting wasnt touched will it still need rejetting?

jetting isnt touched when they restrict them :)

could have just been like that before the restriction
