Guest Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 I have an Ohlins rear shock on the sv650s k3 and just discovered they cost £490. Bloody hell thats a lot of money for a rear shock and I heard they need serviced every now and again. How do I service it anyone know? Quote
Guest Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Have a look here http://www.ohlins.com/Portals/0/documen ... 41-02A.pdfMight find something that would help you Quote
allym316 Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 I have one (and was gonna post the same link above, lol).. and it failed within a couple of weeks of buying the viffer the hose split and threw its oil all over the back wheel and it was a rebuild job. This guy http://www.roadandracesuspension.co.uk/ was recommended by the vfr guys and I can highly recommend him for servicing/ rebuilds. I sent mine through the post and it was back as soon as he could source the parts - which he said he could replace all of them - and he kept the costs as low as possible, so its a lifetimes investment and worth looking after. Mine went from this:http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a155/allym316/th_shockfailure018.jpgto this... http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a155/allym316/th_newshock.jpgThe rebuild wasnt cheap, but then Ohlins arent and it was cheaper to rebuild mine than buy a cheap replacement or buy a new Ohlins. I just wish the previous owner had looked after it a bit better and had fitted it right in the first place Love mine now.. it rocks Quote
Guest Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Ok thanks, at least I now know I can't do it myself. Quote
