Guest
HI Recently bought GS500 2003 that was originally restricted. Dealer derestricted the bike. Now at perfect idle setting 1200rpm bike idles and rides well untill braking and coming up to a junction. When the clutch is slipped coming down to 1st gear the bike stalls. It starts straight away again and sits at idle again. Tried increasing idle to 1500rpm and it doesnt stall but the engine starts to race at junctions. Now does anyone out there have any ideas. Apparently pilot screws on the carbs are preset by manufacture. As i have no idea how a GS500 would have been restricted and if its worth tweaking pilot screws and cleaning carbs out.Cheers in advance Happy Quote Link to comment https://themotorbikeforum.co.uk/topic/5845-gs500-carbs/ Share on other sites
Stu
a good clean may help but sounds to me like it could do with setting up on a dyno with the right jets and needles Quote Link to comment https://themotorbikeforum.co.uk/topic/5845-gs500-carbs/#findComment-122294 Share on other sites
