I have had this problem for months... usually worse in wet weather.

Ill be riding along OK, brake as im pulling up to lights or traffic, as im brakeing I can hear the engine dying, and if it doesnt cut right out when i come to a stop then it will die down and cut out or sometimes regain when i give it throttle...

does it tick over ok ? if not could just be low tick over setting

has it only started since the weather got cold ? could be carb icing

Thanks stu, Thing is I cant get a reading of the tickover as my bike doesnt have a revometer. Is there any other way i can tell?

should have a reasonable easy to acess tickover knob somewhere.. try turning it up a lil bit..

I recently took the carb off and cleaned it - it had dirt in the pool. havnt changed the plug tho - will do asap and see if that helps! Thanks

When you take the plug out, clean it up with emery cloth or a soft wire brush, and wack it back in. Fire it up, take it for a ride. Then take the plug out again. the colour and texture of the electrodes can tell you alot about how the engine's running.
