have fun mate . try to get out into the south for a ride .,as soon as your out of the north you will see there are no working speed cams at all . we went in 2007 and had a fantastick time with the locals at joey dunlops bar and a nite out in dublin is worth the ride over .

Having done both the 200 and the TT races i would say the TTwas better by far .

To be fair about it the TT is a one off event each year the NW200 is just one of a series of road races held throughout the year (maybe the 2nd biggest of the year but one of a series all the same).

Haven't been to either for 20yrs now, but want to get back to NI for the road racing sometime (used to marshall at Carrowdore).

A one off event ????? realy ? then the manx G.P and the southern 200. and vairous classic and vintage meetins plus the many many other club m/cycle events held on the island must be a figment of my imagination . . I think without the many motorcycle meeting held on the i.o.man the manx economy would grind to a swift and sure halt . This is not my own view but is in fact the view of 100% of the manx people ive met and chatted with over the years . The manx goverment are reluctant to stop the TT races ext . regardless of the num of deaths over the years because the island has allmost nothing ells to offer as a tourist attraction .

For those that dont know ( newbies out there ) The I O Man TT Races are in fact not a race par, say ! That are a set of time trials . Each rider sets off from the start line on his own and is timed to the finish line .Unlike the NW 200 . Thay are started in groups and staggered apart from the starting line . Its a matter of opinion which is more pleasurable to spectate or compete i surpose . . Roll on the summer . lol .

Sorry MM, I didn't mean it to come over like there was only one annual road race on the IoM, but as you obviously know as a regular visitor, the TT fortnight is more than just racing it is an event in it's own right.

As you go on to say with regard to tourism, if the Southern or the Manx were to be finished it would make little difference but the TT ending would plunge the island into ruin (excluding the offshore financial business).

So long may the TT continue I just prefer the NW, also you don't get ripped off by the Steam Racket Co.

Being into bikes and bike sport isnt about spending or investing money for true returns or investments . lol . if we counted the pennes we spend on trips meets and gear let alone bikes them selves we would all im sure have a heart attacks. lol . roll on the summer .

Last time I was at the NW there wasn't a chicane near the pits !

Think of that atmosphere for a fortnight, every owners club has a meet at one pub or another somewhere on the island, some of the sights take some believing.

eg Rode to the Laverda meet with a few mates, went in and got a drink when we came out there was a huge crowed around where my old mucker had parked his Corsa (Laverda not Vauxhall  ), worried what had happened to his pride and joy he rushed over and barged his way to the front only to see two very nearly identical Black Corsas parked side by side, He didn't notice when he parked up, when I say identical same model, colour, year and almost VRN, *123 XYZ parked next to *124 XYZ. And that was the only thing different, no stickers added, RFL in the same place, even ran out the same month.
