so it need a new chain and i don't want it to rust like the last one I'm going on holiday in

2 weeks so it be going back in the garage to rust again!

No need to buy a new chain (probably).

I've used this a few times to remove surface rust off my chain with very good results, looks good as new every time.

i would advise against that as if you have an o-ring based chain that will persish the orings within it and make the chain more knackered than if it was rusty ...

parraffin to clean and a light coat of oil ( on a warm chain will stop it rusting ) and to remove rust .......wire brush ..........

if its that rusty it won't bend at link ..... remove place in a tub and soak in a light oil for a few days and hope that it frees ....

I've found White wax, the best for protecting/lubricating the chain, it doesn't spray the wheel like oil, and gives a visual and harder coat. available form all major bike retailers,/... lol
