Guest Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Hi i have a yamaha sr125 and i was wanting to change the oil filter for a new one but i am having a problem with finding the where abouts of it on the engine. So could someone let me know where abouts it is ob the bike please. Thanks Quote
Guest Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 if sat on bike right hand side of engine are three allen bolts (hex heads) that hold a cover in place it is located behind that cover ... think it is towards the front of the casing about 2/3rds way up if i remember correctly Quote
Bill_on_a_bike Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Be warned, when you undo the cover, a bit of oil might dribble out, nice stain on my patio that Quote
Guest Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Thanks for the reply. I tried getting the casing off put managed to snaped all my allen keys, the bloody thing is on there too tight. Im just gonna get a mechanic to bloody do it for me.Thanks though. Quote
stevie16v Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Don't use allen keys mate. Use allen bits that you can put onto a socket then a wrench, Some wd40 and a few wacks with a hammer normally help. If you do do it yourself remember and make sure the oil pressure is ok. ALl you do is undo the inspection bolt (bottom right of the three pictured) and let the engine run, no longer than a minute. Hold a cloth near the opening as oil should spout out Quote
