Guest
I posted a thread a while ago asking about earplugs etc. and someone recommended these... they provided the website and I'm sure they were cheaper than this (although not a lot... may £12.99, but can't remember how much postage was). I keep meaning to sort myself with some but haven't got around to it yet.
Rosie
I bought a set of them last year but then got a new helmet that actually fitted me and I stopped using earplugs all together.I know I do need them and I keep finding the package (when I'm looking for something else ) so when I'm back on the bike at Easter I may well try them and let you know. Revvin Kevin
I was thinking of getting some made, (not the DIY ones) but you need to get them redone every 2 years or so, (because your ears change shape with age) It actually works out cheaper to buy a load of disposable ear plugs in bulk and throw them away once a week. The plugs I use, (orange MAX ones), also appear to have a slightly better SNR than custom plugs

Still think I will get a set though, as I need some with built in headphones....Have to say though, that if you don't need headphones then disposable ones used correctly are just brilliant!! techno
I think disposable ones work fine, just need to remember to put them in.But we can have the moulded ones made at work for free but there selective about it cos of the cost( if one person needs them all should ) doesnt mean I wont stop trying! I was planning to try and do that, how did you make yours?
Guest akey
I used the DIY Custom plug material, and while moulding it I inserted a set of in ear speakers that I got from the NEC (got them from starcom for about £20). Once dry I took the speakers out and then used a red hot pin to burn a hole for the sound to come through. If you take it easy and take your time then its fairly easy to sort. Revvin Kevin
I got some new custom made plugs at the NEC show (not DIY) from http://www.customearprotection.co.ukThey were £50 but combined with a new (and VERY good lid - Schuberth C3) I hardly hear the motorway rumble and every journey feels so much better and I'm so much more relaxed. Got half a box of 200 squeezy plugs left that I'll keep for spares but even if I have to change the custom mades every two years I'll be happy with that (works out less than 50p a week over the course of the year, as I ride right through).Good luck. Do you consider the moulded ear plugs to be any quieter than disposable ones and do they blank out the sound of a crying baby, (don't ask )
wiffers
I made mine just now, they seem really quiet, comfy, and you can get helmet on easy. Plus you get enough for 3, so I can have two normal and one for a headphone ...Haven't ridden with them yet, but happy so far
Guest
Well, I've also ordered a couple of sets. Look pretty good, and the Oracle (Akey ) thinks they are ok. So I'll give em a go!
