Hi there, new to bikes and to this forum :), passed my CBT about 5 months ago, and have been using an old GS 125.

I've had no end of problems with it, at first it was O.K. but a few weeks in, I noticed that the battery was either not holding a charge or wasnt being charged. The easiest thing to do was to get a new battery, and I did.

I gave the new battery a full charge before fitting it to the bike, electric start worked again!, until I realised it was not being charged, and I had to keep charging the battery. After a while, I was informed that the regulator/rectifier may be defective, and so I bought a new one and fitted it.

To my amazement, the battery was getting a charge, and so rode around for a while until my headlight bulbs started blowing, one after the other for a few weeks. Also, my rear and stop bulb blew once.

I replaced the tail and stop bulb and noticed that the tail filament was fine but the stop filament refused to work, a couple of weeks later it suddenly stopped blowing bulbs, at the same time also stopped charging my battery.

Now, the battery isnt being charged, stop light wont come on(dont know if its blown, but doesnt look it) when I squeeze either front brake or press rear foot brake, oh and my second gear light on gear indicator intermittently works :S.

On the upside, bulbs arent blowing anymore :)

any advice would be appreciated, :)

Ive looked at my haynes manual, and it says there is only one fuse for the system, which is in a little plastic case attached to the rubber strap holding in the battery, would a continuity test with a multimeter determine whether or not it's blown?

got my bike back today, all works, and after an electrical overhaul, seems nippier o.0, now just left with a slight oil leak and missing fairing :P
