Guest
http://www.venturesport.co.uk/venturesp ... rseid=1186Be aware that the wash stuff is very foamy and can wreck a washing machine so don't use too much - less than they recommend. Also, it will need to be re-proofed with the spray on product afterwards. Guest
The wash stuff will remove the proofing which is why it needs to be redone afterwards.I sprayed my Akito Python II with waterproofing spray before a trip to the Lakes last year and it only leaked at two tiny seams which wasn't a problem.I can't stress enough to go easy with the wash stuff though - a new washing machine is more expensive than a new jacket! sparky
i went to a camping shop and got some nikwax stuff that goes in the washing machine with the coat. just let it drip dry and it's ready to go. i could never be bothered with respraying the coat, but it couldn't hurt. nigelwood1
I found that dead flies work well as water proofing...I haven't cleaned any of my textiles yet...Can't be ar5ed....If they leak I just spray em with the flies as well....I prefer the lived in look..... monotone
I use the Nikwax stuff that you put in the washing machine too. My jacket was certainly cleaner and more waterproof afterwards.

Guest
I bought a Spidi textile jacket a year or more back, never been waterproofed and leaks in heavy rain. I did see the Nikwax stuff in Betws y Coed on Sunday but declined the purchase, just as well since it was more than twice the price of those links posted That website says I have 2 local delaers at the other end of my High St here so will check out what they're wanting for the pair.cheers for the info
