chrisgatguis
Hi all,has anyone converted a Suzuki GS500E to 'F' before?I've spotted the side fairings for sale and i've contacting the seller about the top fairing.Does anyone know if the bars or anything needs to be modified for the conversion. Also was thinking about the clocks on the 'E' are double pod type, is there any GS500F owners out there who can tell me what their clocks are like? i.e. integrated into the top fairing or just the double pod type same as mine?I'm missing the protection i used to get on my CBR 125 (lol) from the wind etc and was heading down the track of getting a fly screen etc etc.. just thought this might be a viable option.CheersChris
yorbandit
I thought the difference was the fairings
chrisgatguis
I thought the difference was the fairings the only difference? i've seen a few aftermarket fairings for 'em which require you to fit a different set of handle bars to allow it to fit.if its a straight swap i might just get it all and try it. Guest
GS500E has Clip-Ons, whereas the GS500F has Standard Bars. You should be able to convert to bars simply.. Using Risers, or get hold of the top Yoke (Alloy Bit) when getting the fairing.. and brace. The Clocks seem the same. GS500E

Gsxr etc? Might make tracking them down a bit easier..Thanks!Chris

chrisgatguis
Thanks a lot for your replies Frankie i've had a good look into what i'd need.At that point I thought damn its going to cost probably half of what the bikes worth to do so i've decided i'll have to let it pass.you never know i might get a new bike later in the year...for now i've ordered a little screen instead lol..I found that the actual fairing wasn't that bad - a couple of sellers on ebay had them for about 40 -50 quid per peice (2 x side, 1 x top)but then realised i'd need the massive bracket which it connects with (possibly two), new screen, new headlight so i think its a bit too much to do to my 8 yr old bike..hopefully the thread wont go to waste though as i'm sure someone else will search for it in the future!cheersChris
