Hi all, I need a new battery for my bike and am pricing them up at the moment. The battery on my bike (gsxf600) is a Y10BL-B2 and I was wondering if I should be looking for a particular make that supply better quality batteries, or if they are all much of a muchness. The prices seem to vary quite a bit so I thought maybe the quality does too. It will be good to get back on her...the bike that is, as it's been a while since I have had a ride.....on the bike.

your Y10BL is probably a Yuasa battery, most are much of a muchness, no difference really, i'd get a new one and invest your extra/saved cash in an optimate charger which you can leave on trickle, and it conditions the battery too..

Wemoto do a Yuasa for £46 + 7 Delivery, they also do a pattern one for £26.91, or a Nitro for £34.50

You will need to charge the battery before use, after filling with the liquid (electrolyte)..

Oh dear. I had to buy one in a hurry as I needed the bike for the next morning. I went to my local bike shop and they told me they had one in and the price was £32, bargan thought. that was till I did a search on the type of battery. Its a Rob Hunter, aparently its rubbish. Ah well I live and learn, and live and learn etc etc

I'd still get an optimate style charger to try and get the best from this battery, hopefully it will keep going for a while, but it might be better to get a less budget model next time..
