Exhaust Upgrade Honda Hornet 600 1998

Afternoon oh wise ones.

Thinking about upgrading my exhaust on my Hornet. It just doesn't sound manly enough!

Any ideas anyone? Throaty would be good.

Or any decent websites to point me in the right direction.

I've bought one from Fuel (haven't fitted it yet, should be doing it tonight) as they were quite cheap and looking at videos on Youtube they sound quite good as well. They also have removable baffles (if you don't buy the budget option) for extra loudness. :D

I think this is the correct link for your bike: http://www.fuelexhausts.com/Results.cfm?scndctgry_ID=76

If I fit mine tonight I'll let you know if it sounds manly. 8-)

Cheers for the quick reply.

That's not too bad for the money.

Let me know how you get on.

If it sounds like Orson Wells after a night on the lash then it'll do for me.

Ok.

Good luck. I don't suppose there's much of a rush unless you're fitting the pipe to a snow mobile.

Howdy!

I've fitted it. The hardest part was fitting the little rubber stopper to stop the centre stand from hitting the chain. It sounds great, although I only gave it a quick rev with the baffle in as it started to rain. I'll try to take pictures/video this weekend.

I just hope I've fitted it correctly and it doesn't start leaking or something.

It's so shiny and new, not like the rusty one I took off.

Nice work chap.

Shame about the snow eh? Otherwise you could be annoying the neighbourhood with gusto all weekend.

If you do post a vid, let me know and I'll have a butchers.

I'm just looking down the back of the sofa to try and get some money together.

No snow down here. To close to the sea. I think my neighbours hate me already because I have a drum kit and used to have band practice in the garage so it shouldn't be anything new.

Took a couple of quick pictures and a very quick video. Sorry for the darkness but it is night time. I hardly revved it because I didn't want to piss people off, so it's pretty much idle. I can try to make a better video when it's daytime.

It sounds much better in real life, has a deeper tone. Having a terrible camera doesn't help.

Better picture:

Still no better video unfortunately. My camera sucks anyway so don't think I'd do it justice. Probably better to judge the exhausts by the videos I posted earlier.

Au contraire my friend. I watched the video and with headphones In you can tell the difference. Good work. When I upgrade I'll let you know.

Sounds good mate... Throaty, but still has the sound I like from the Hornet.... May have to treat myself in a couple of months.... Too many other treats on the way at the moment...
