Guest Posted February 8, 2009 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Hiya new to the forum and I'm in the sh*t.Just got a triumph speed 4. I managed to knock the heated bars on and ran down the battery. Got a bike charger from halfords 40 suid . And the battery charges fine.Problem is....The twin headlights don't come on. Checked bulbs they're ok, reconnected all terminals to battery, reconnected some terminals to battery/ connected main terminals only. No joy. Funny thing is when i turn the ignition off and remove the key the parking lights come on!Its driving me nuts Any tips gratefully recieved!Cheers,cowboyout of the 3 stages of lights what do you get, i take it sidelights come on normally?but no dip? what about main?could be you've blown a fuseotherwiseit sounds like you have a connection the wrong way around somewhere... you know what you connected /recoonected, so go back to that and have a look, normally wires are the same colour going through a connection, i.e orange in, then orange out.. if orange in and green out, then look for green in , orange out and swap..also some bikes have a park light like that on cars, so if you leave lights on or turn ignition past steering lock you get lights on.. I didn't touch anything else guv, honest. I am leaning toward that somehow I buggered the headlight relay... ordered a pair, so hopefully that'll fix it.
