Hiya new to the forum and I'm in the sh*t.

Just got a triumph speed 4. I managed to knock the heated bars on and ran down the battery. Got a bike charger from halfords 40 suid  . And the battery charges fine.

Problem is....

The twin headlights don't come on. Checked bulbs they're ok, reconnected all terminals to battery, reconnected some terminals to battery/ connected main terminals only. No joy. Funny thing is when i turn the ignition off and remove the key the parking lights come on!

Its driving me nuts

Any tips gratefully recieved!

Cheers,

cowboy

out of the 3 stages of lights what do you get, i take it sidelights come on normally?

but no dip? what about main?

could be you've blown a fuse

otherwise

it sounds like you have a connection the wrong way around somewhere... you know what you connected /recoonected, so go back to that and have a look, normally wires are the same colour going through a connection,

i.e orange in, then orange out.. if orange in and green out, then look for green in , orange out and swap..

also some bikes have a park light like that on cars, so if you leave lights on or turn ignition past steering lock you get lights on..

Cheers mate. I only removed the terminals from the battery itself, so just two colours of wire red and black! I didn't touch anything else guv, honest. I am leaning toward that somehow I buggered the headlight relay... ordered a pair, so hopefully that'll fix it. Or its auto-electrician time :|
