Guest
Hi,My question is a simple one. I live with this guy who thinks it's a great idea to drag my bike around the garage on it's centre stand. I'd love to catch him doing it just to see exactly what he does. Well, it's pissing me off. I don't move his car around as I see fit. The question is: Can the centre stand be damaged by this dragging? He'll literally slide the bike sideways on the stand, there's a line where it's scraped across the ground. Voodoo
Yeah it can and will damage the stand, even sitting on your bike with the stand down damages it. The damage will most likely not even be noticable at first, it does take quite a while, but eventually something will snap or bend. Guest
I was shown how to pirouette a bike on the centre stand and was not made aware of any potential damage, however, I wouldn't do it a a matter of course. My main problem would be with the unsolicited interference with someone else's property. Bill_on_a_bike
I saw my local Yam. Dealer head honcho spin a VTR round on it's SIDE Stand alone.I'd like to think they're stronger than they look, but i fear they're not.
