GARYJL
I have a 2001 CBR 600 F1 with about 20,000 miles on the clockthat didnt come with a full service history. I would like to haveit really well servced but im not sure what I should have doneor if there is anything I can do myself with a few basic tools anda Haynes manual. I was thinking Oil, Plug, Coolant, brake pads, brake fluid, chain and air filter some of which I may be able to domyself ? Is there anything else I would need to think about ? Revvin Kevin
Thats quite a lot of things to do, what could I do myself ? You could do them all if you have the right tools for the job and reasonably competent machincally speaking. If not you would be best to leave the head bearings, valve clearance checks and carb balance to a dealer.
Revvin Kevin
if you read the haynes manual there is a section of service interval and what is to be checked etc If you've got a owners manual, it will give you the service intervals in there. However with an unknown history, you would be at least advised to cover everything reqd. during a major service.
