MtotheJ
Im taking a stab in the dark here but i am guessing the oil warning light means you need to top up your oil The engine one could be anything really, to the best of my knowledge (which is not much so correct me if i'm wrong) bikes don't have catalytic converters. It could be anything I guess, take it to your local and get it checked out.
Korben
The light could mean "SERVICE TIME!!!"

fishfreak
thanks for all your help. i think the best thing to do is get the servise done early. if the diragram is anything to go by i dont want to cause any damage to my engine! (the symbol is the same as no. 13!)

cruz
Don't know if you bike has TPS but I have had the same and all I needed to do was adjust the sensor (the mounting bolt had come loose).
Stu
you will find that the light will be to do with ALL sensors on the bike and if you get any fault with them it makes it light up you can probably find the fault code out yourself some how and fix it easily but finding the code is a different story on suzuki's theres a plug you bridge with a bit of wire and it shows the error code on the LCD display
cruz
Yamaha's is a series of flashes, bit like morse code Then look at workshop manual.
Stu
done a bit of looking around nnd you need a generic OBD 2 reader to check error codes these are around £60 to buy so looks like a trip to your local mechanic
