speedo problem

my speedo works the speedo cable is fine n the coge in the frount weel is there. but the coge in the frount weel dosent seem to conect to the frount weel at all


any idias

the cog at the front wheel has a washer with two flat pieces on it which sit inside a groove in the wheel as the wheel turns, it turns the washer and the rack and pinion gearing, thus turning the end you can see..


as a guess the wheel has been removed and refitted and has not been lined up and compressed the locking plates, support the bike, and remove the front wheel, take of the drive and get a screwdriver under the bits that should stick out and then replace, making sure they fit into the wheel, put the bike back together and turn the wheel by hand watching the drive for movement, and voila job done,.
