Guest
Right peeps, I'm a textile man.. as you may be already aware... I do own leathers, but they are two piece and *ahem* don't fit anymore. So, I'm looking at getting myself a one piece suit, and prolly a new lid too..Anyways, pros and cons of one piece suit please... recommended makes? Things to be aware of etc.. All advice appreciated.
Korben
I would go forAlpinestars or Dianese.... Please remember though I am a self confessed label whore!!! Others will recommend different ones.Only downside I have ever heard (Which some leathers accomodate), is that when you need the loo, it can be a bit of a nightmare to get off in a hurry!!! Guest philgale
my next ones are gonna be kangaroo skin leathers, there lighter than cow arse loads of good ones, if you got a spare grand in the bank Dianese are good. other than that berick and arlen ness are awesome suits BKS are really good (toesland wears them and lets face it he falls off alot )just go somewhere and try loads on, you will find some fit better than others, also if you can get in and out of them on your own there too big, like a lid they should feel really tight to start with as they give and shape to you

nman1
General site Dan to help you look at loads of brands. Hope it helpshttp://first4gear.com/PS, if you`ve got a back protector, wear that when you try them on, otherwise you could get them too small and tight. Guest akey
Forgot about Arlen Ness..... Very good make!! Was about to slap you then Korbs if you had not fessed up!!!!Oh I have an Arlen Ness suit BTW.You need to to get out and try loads of suits on, take your time as they are all cut differently. If you can get ones with a zip that goes down far enough that you dont need to take the suit off to have a pee !!!! Also make sure you try the suit on with your back protector (if you have one) and helmet on as some combinations can make the back protector ride up and push into your helmet when on a bike. Guest philgale
following on from akeys post, i think most have a zip from the bottom too (no not so you can have a dump) but so you dont have to zip all the way down to have a slash just zip it up a bit
SuperMe79
At the moment you might be able to get last seasons suits at a hefty discount. I bought an Arlen Ness kangaroo suit for £650 reduced from £1100. The only difference between it and this years version are a few cosmetic changes. You'll probably want a back protector to go with your suit. Buy the back protector first or at the same time so you can be sure you can do the suit up when wearing it. Suits should be tight as they will stretch but be careful with the pie munching. An under suit is a good idea as getting out of your tight fitting leathers can be tricky on a hot summers day if it's just skin on skin!Suits tend to be perforated for added airflow. On hot summer days that's just what you want but at this time of year you'll freeze. You can get waterproof and windproof covers to go over the top .. sorta like a big condom! At Brands last weekend they stopped one of the races to ambulance off a fallen rider. One of the racers got off his bike and took a leak whilst the bikes were stopped up in the middle of the track. It was only two laps into the race! Dunno why he hadn't taken care of that in advance!

j4ff
I use Arlen Ness LS1.Not crash tested so cant coment on durability.Stand up toilet use is fine.As for sitting down theres that much leather wrapped round your legs its hard to open them (thigh nut sandwich )I feel safer in the knowledge in a spill they wont come apart(top&bottom) unlike a 2 piece.Hard as f*ck to get off if youve built up a sweat, never tried a base layer probably help.A bit impractical if youre just off to the shops.I have leather pants aswell sometimes its easier and more convenient to wear them with a textile top
