hi there

i have a skyjet sj125gy-3a i bought it off ebay a couple of days ago just for a run around. when i turn the ignition on all the electrics work fine including the electric start but doesn't produce a spark but when i unclip the ignition loom the bike produces the spark and the bike starts fine. iv looked at all the wires and matched them to the handbook and they all seem fine? any ideas?

many thanks

Not sure, but I'd suggest a faulty earth somewhere

iv checked all the wires and there all in the right places and are all in good condition? what else could it be?

i asked him that and he said it was fine 1 day then wouldnt start the next. i can get it started when i unclip the ignition loom and its fine but i have no lights or any electrics or i can leave the ignition loom attached and have all electrics that work perfect but then the bike dosen't produce a spark? so when the ignition is attached it must stops the coil getting power to produce a spark to the spark plug? it must be an easy fix because both things work on there own fine but just not together lol.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

thanks

i would suggest that there is an internal fault, when it is connected is it resting on anything metal causing a short.. is there any browning indication a blown circuit.

iv just fixed it. i moved the connection soldered to the ignition switch from each other abit to give them more room and now the bike starts and everythig works. the soldered connections must of been to close which caused it to probably short.

many thanks for your help though.
