Bill_on_a_bike
Haynes says I should put some thread locking compound on the bolts holding in my cam shaft retaining place. I don't have any thread locking compound, but I do have a torque wrench, will that be ok?I don't mean to cut corners, but i don't really wanna spend £5 on a tube to use two dabs of the stuff. jamesw
A torque wrench isn't a substitute for thread lock i'm afraid. If you over tighten the bolt then you could end up doing more damage. I would just bit the bullet and get some, you will undoubtedly find more nuts and bolts that require it.Sorry.....

jamesw
*phew*Just remember when you are applying thread lock you don't need to use loads otherwise you'll never get the bloody thing out when you try and take it off next time.
