hi all

Got a NSR 125 and i've noticed a leak from this hole on the inside of the left hand side crank case. This houses the alternator should there be any gear box oil in there at all. I'm stumped at the moment

Cheers chris

also, are you the same kid that dropped the gear box oil.. are you sure its not a drip from that, give it a good clean and dry it off, and see how it goes,

is it a plug? is it tight? more info needed..

how old's the NSR? model Year?

it's a nsr 125 01 plate fox eye uk model, not dropped any gear box oil, it only leaks while engines running it looks maybe like a plug should go in the oval, bloke from the bike shop came round today and he was stumped, looked at all the parts picture and can see no plug around there. Also trying to think of what the red bit in the whole could be. Cleaned it twice and it starts to leak about 2 mins after the engine starts and losing quite a bit of oil out of it

Cheers

looks like some sort of sealant compound (sometimes used instead of a gasket)

if you bought it from the bike shop, are they owning up to having done any repairs to the engine?

it's hard to tell from the image but it looks to me like a hole for a bolt to go into. is the plate with the oval holding the alternator in place? the oval shape sugests the position of the plate is adjustable. get a small screw driver and push it into the oval. if it's deep, it's a bolt hole. if it isn't then i'm stumped without more info.
