Guest akey
Phil, has it been stood for a long time, if so it may just be the petrol buddy (unleaded can go off if left for more than a few months - not always though). Try a fresh tank of juice. If not get some wynnes carb cleaner down the carbs to see if that clears her out.
Guest philgale
i think the bike has been stood for a while not sure, but we would of gone through a full tank of fuel at cadwell on it so it should have all fresh in now...tim thats the exact problem we are having, will check that out today when i go to my dads... drmike
Update... May be electrical. The battery voltage was dropping below 12V when the engine was revved hard (running total loss system). Seemed to work just fine when hooked up to another bike running. It's getting a new alternator fitted and we'll see what happens...Previously run as a race bike so very unlikely to be restricted!!!! Carbs working just fine.
Guest philgale
did you just copy the text i sent you and no mention of your two brothers who will more than likely fitting the new alternator for you while dad thinks hes helping and you just turn up and ride it i think you should store the bikes at yours

Matt Strange
If they isn't any obvious obstruction to either the intake or exhaust systems, then first point of call should surely be the ignition system?. I had a car that wouldn't rev, turned out it was suffering from HT breakdown under load.
