Guest Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 (edited) Hi All!!Practice at Mallory today in preperation for Sunday.Took the new racebike out today for the first time. Not only was it the first time out on the GSX-R 1000 but also the first time out in the wet on wet tyres.Felt incredibly wierd to begin with, soft rubber moving about and the brain telling me that its wet and that i shoudnt go round corners like this! The last lap of the first session i had a sideways moment coming out of Edwinas and luckily it didnt spit me off. Second session was dry so only did a few laps as i didnt want to destroy the wets. Started getting better times in the 3rd session and got into consistant 1.05's which was great, and no more crazy sideways moments. Over the day i started getting more used to the bike and riding in the wet. It felt very wierd that i could go so fast in the wet and it was great!Managed to get my times down to 1.03's with a best time of 1.03.634 which in a race would be well towards the front. Was a great day and very happy with the test. I wouldnt be unhappy if it rained on sunday, but i'd still prefer it to be dry. Hope to see some of you there!Cheers, Martynhttp://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k145/martynlewins/WetMarv02.jpg Edited April 10, 2009 by Anonymous Quote
