Guest scol1
Gloss is far easier to keep clead,'specially when removing 'chain-fling'.J.

Guest
i must admin, a matte finish looks good.. (subframes etc.) but wheels deffo gloss, u just want something u are able to give a quick wipe to clean..
Guest scol1
My wheels came stock matt black, and I had them powder coated after 12 months, believe me when I say gloss is far easier to keep up to,and personally I think it looks better,or at least 'smoked chrome' does J. Guest Ninja-Bear
4 - 0 gloss think that does it for me Are there any variations on how powder coating is done or is it the same process anywhere you go
Guest nigelf
its basically the same process HOWEVER the main difference between the company's that do the service is preparation. If your wheels are poorly stripped of any coatings or residual oil is left the finish can suffer. I would go to a personally recommended outfit and preferably one that does mainly automotive parts. Agricultural, office or garden equipment are often blasted with large coarse beads (or even grit) this method of cleaning/striping often reduces the fine finish required for your bike. One other thing, consider replacing your wheel bearings at the same time as you should remove them prior to the coating.I personally recommend Tripple S in Bingley. They are a little pricey but the finish is worth the extra few quid.Nigel Fenton

Guest scol1
Metal-Magic in Barnsley coated my wheels.Cost £72.00 for 2 wheels 'soft bead' blasting and coating of 'smoked chrome',which incidently is a dearer finish than a plain gloss.Been done for 6000 miles, and a tyre change, still no visible marks or chips.J.
