Korben Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Well... Qualifying cancelled due to heavy rain. They have taken all the fastest times from the 2 practice sessions they have had. Rossi is on Pole. Can't find the full grid, but few more details here:http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsp ... 017962.stm Quote
Guest Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Honda's test track, Yamaha 1 and 2 well i hope you put your money where your mouth is really good races in each event. made a nice change not to have a rossi-stoner dice. such a pity that webb didnt do a little rain dance before starting; must've been a bit gutting for him going backwards like that. Guest Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Whats up with that commentator? Yeorge Lorenzo? Chris Vermoooolen?Chopper haha, yeah, he was a bit shi-ite, makes you realise just how much toby and julian add to the whole event weekend. Quote
Jerry Can Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Yea but at least the race was good......so glad to see that Stoner won't dominate the season, some real battles to look forward too. Quote
jimsoon Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Haha George i thought he was saying!I only saw the MotoGP, was a good race, a different battle at the front, and seeing stoner lose a few off the line made it more intresting than seeing him shoot off and be alone the whole race.well done George/Yeorge/Jorge! Quote
techno Posted April 26, 2009 Author Posted April 26, 2009 Nice to see a different winner and glad he had his flag with him A semi decent race for a change! Quote
Ratser Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Something was definitely not right with Stoner though.I don't get the dislike of Stoner either, I love watching him.In fact I love watching all of them and have no favourites at all.SBK had better races today though. Quote
Korben Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Sbk was awesome!! Anyone know what happened with the fella who got his wrist ridden over? Quote
techno Posted April 26, 2009 Author Posted April 26, 2009 Only they mentioned that it was pitts finger rather than his wrist. Quote
Korben Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Don't sound as bad as it looked then... Looked bloody painful!! Quote
Guest Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 danny podrosa did well and is very happy with his result . realy ????? so effin smile man . god hes po faced sod . gurrrrrrrrr Quote
Sheep_onna_Bandit Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I had the dubious pleasure of watching the MotoGP race on the Beeb.I know I've avoided it like the plague over recent years because of their toothless commentators, but who the fluck does that "Charlie" bloke think he is?Lorenzo came in for the biggest pile of sly, underhanded comments I ever heard from someone paid to commentate after he'd won the race and was celebrating in his own inimitable way.The guy was snorting with laughter when his bike stalled while he was planting his Lorenzo Land flag out on trackside. Now I'm not a "fan" of Lorenzo's (me thinking Vale is a demi-God and all that) but he's the future of MotoGP, the sport needs characters like him and it doesn't need muppets like Charlie.GrrrrrrRant over Quote
techno Posted April 27, 2009 Author Posted April 27, 2009 wont watch the beeb whilever theres a choice but just reading somewhere else about what cox said and the guy is gonna complain to the beeb about it!Oh and Am a big fan of goergy boy! Quote
Guest nastro azzurro Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Gotta agree with whats said about Cox's comments......Piss poor touring car driver wont he??? Anything that wins other than Stoner am happy....... Unless its a battle..... But he dont do that..... But WSB and WSS were awesome this weekend!!!!! Quote
Guest Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Something was definitely not right with Stoner though.I don't get the dislike of Stoner either, I love watching him. after the race, the eurosport coverage was with stoner as he went back to his pit team. he was overheard talking about the front brake having a problem, so that might be why he was off his game.i dont get the gripe with stoner either. proved his talent when nobody else can do anything with the ducatti, he's no showman like rossi, but who is?i did catch some of the beeb coverage on the repeat on sunday afternoon (thought i'd tune in to see how they compared with eurosport) and wasnt overly impressed nor unimpressed with the commentary, but they were nowhere near as good as toby and julian. but the guy who does the pit lane reporting for the beeb is top class imo. i watched the live bbc feed for the motogp event from qatar the other week and pre-race he handled the changing situation in his stride. it was mentioned suzy perry would be back in front of the camera for jerez so i guess he'll be shoved into the background. Jive Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 I can't stand the BBC commentators, if Dorna insist on giving them the LIVE rights they should also insist on making them having decent commentators, That Charlie Cox comment of 'a lap of self adulation' feck me the bloke had just rode an awesome race to pass Rossi and deserved it! Doesn't he remember Jorge's highside last year? ? Quote
Guest Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 is it just me that finds moto GP a bit boring after say 5 laps ( most of the time ) . I get the feeling well thats it then stoner wins rossi 2nd and the rest are allso runs . bring on the last lap . . unlike the wsb and supersport . Quote

Nah I would still rather watch Moto GP than F1 anyday. Now that has become a stale sport. And even when someone wins, you get the feeling that it all may change due to some ruling or violation Quote

No, watching the best riders (upto a point) riding the fastest race bikes to the limit!Afterall there racing the track as much as each other, do think if they lost the fuel limit the actual racing each other part would last longer Quote
Guest Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Yes i take back all ive said . i do love it . . its cool . Quote
