XmisterIS Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I currently use a disc lock and handlebar reminder, but I am debating whether I should fit my own Alarm/Immobiliser.My questions:1) I presume you fit it to the ignition, is that correct?2) How easy is it for a thief to get round the immobilisation?3) Is it actually any more secure than a good disc lock? I have an Abus Granite X-something-or-other (cost me £60) and apparently it is literally bombproof - the blurb that came with it says that Abus have actually blown one up and it survived, intact, still locked and it still worked. Stu Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 depends what you buy wether it will be anygood or not i have a datatool system 4 best on the market (at the time) but no good if its not chained to something and someone picks it up and puts it in a van im a firm beliver in cheap alarm that makes a nice loud sound cheap immobiliser but really decent locks and chain obviously chained to something solid Quote
stevie16v Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 look at cyclone alarms on ebay. They are superb. And on the sv you dont need to connect anything under the ignition. its all done under the seats and takes a whopping 30mins max. Just invest in a few scotch locks and leccy tape! Quote
