So i've just bought a new chain and sprocket set for my bike and like the idiot I am, I forgot to ask the guy in the shop about chain tools. Have just seen the price of them online  I assume that using the correct tool is necessary as a chain snapping whilst doing...erm...70mph would be a brown pants moment.

Also, it looks as though the chain can be joined using either a rivet or with a clip, which is easiest to refit?

OR

Should I just ask the garage to fit it when I have my MOT next week?

Cut the old one off with a angle grinder , attach the new one with 2 bricks ;)

Or the motrax chain device is ok
