RiffmasterII Posted May 13, 2009 Author Posted May 13, 2009 I’m happy to look at costings etc then book things up if people are up for it. I’m looking to keep the costs as cheap as possible and open to visiting any locations / countries, I just fancy a nice bike trip with a difference! Quote
SuperMe79 Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Ha! I can think of only two reasons why people go to Amsterdam; sex and drugs. As you have a girlfriend you must be going for the latter? Quote
RiffmasterII Posted May 13, 2009 Author Posted May 13, 2009 Ha! I can think of only two reasons why people go to Amsterdam; sex and drugs. As you have a girlfriend you must be going for the latter? Neither really, I just thought we could stop at Brugges which looks nice then Amsterdam must have things to see and do (other than sex and drugs) because its a big tourist place, as I said Im happy to go anywhere, I just fancy a trip away. My little brother is off in Scotland at the moment with 13 bikers and the photos look great, Im very jealous!PS. Nick, have you finished with my bong? Quote
Pete Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 I've a couple of friends who live in Amsterdam who would be first to admit sex and drugs are high on the list of things most tourists do there! Neither are really my thing (well unless it's from a girlfriend or the doctor RESPECTIVELY!!). However there's so much more to the city - everyone rides round on push bikes (some weird ones without brakes, you just stop pedalling to slow down) and I'd like to have a go at that.p.s. I've just found an awesome recipe for hash brownies... Quote
Guest Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 i've been to amsterdam twice and neither was partaken by me, and although we went to a coffee shop, i passed on the local brew we did do a walk through the sex quarter tho; very different seeing all those windows with the goods on display, and worth a visit just for that, but still, very civilised and nothing seedy to be seen, and no, i wasnt tempted, well, ok, maybe a little Quote
RiffmasterII Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 There’s a couple of people at work possibly up for this two, I've been doing a bit of research and I get a discount with work on ferry crossing and hotels, the best I've come up with so far is £107.65 per adult. That’s with a return ferry crossing and sharing a twin room, including a continental breakfast for 2 nights (£48.15 ferry crossing and £59.50 for hotel). I don’t know how long the prices will stay at this for but it gives us a rough idea.Let me know if its something your interested in, I will be hoping to book this on 20th May if possible, if not then just whenever the money comes together for anybody coming, let me knowAlan Quote
