dreadycraig Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 I am in the middle of changing my chain and sprockets on my Suzuki Bandit 600The front sprocket that I have been supplied is different from the one that's on there. The original sprocket has a rubbery ring stuck on either side of it whereas the new one is plain metal. The metal parts of both look identical. Is this right? I suspect it is just cheaper to make the part out of metal and omit the rubber part. Quote
Stu Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 pics will help but if the overall thickness is the same then it should be fine Quote

Is it just to dampen any vibration/noise? Quote
Guest Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 like the cush rubbers on the back wheel inside the wheel, the rubber dampens vibration and stops the "thunk" that we get with older bikes with solid sprockets.. cush rubbers Quote
