Guest Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Haha... you guys probabually think im full of problems! My bike is fast for its age, and goes like hell, but recently the clutch has been slipping... as in...When I open out in any gear, the revs climb like anything, and go down and then kick the bike forward, and sometimes its actually quite scary coz it kicks the bike and the bike feels like its about to kick off like a horse... (wheelie)what could I do about that?I adjusted the clutch cable but that's dont nothing... so i put it back to where it was... anything else I need to do? Quote
Voodoo Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Could be clutch plates or springs, or even a worn clutch basket (but I doubt it).My experience of changing clutch plates are its incredibly easy, but I'm not sure how difficult it is on your bike. Quote
Guest akey Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Not entirely sure mate, but sounds like a slipping clutch I would do the following:Change oil - could be contamination, not very likely but the cheapest option.Change clutch plates and springs. One final thought, does it do it right after you change gear? If so then its probably worth lubing the clutch cable first as it could be a stiff cable not fully releasing the clutch. Quote
Guest Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 it does sometimes, but not all the times, I will change the oil, lube up the cable... and see how it does from there... if not i will have to change the stuff for it... guna start doin the Exup Valve on the bike, and maybe the exhaust aswel at about 2:30... Can't wait... hope it sorts out my problems... Thanks. Quote
Guest Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I'm with Akey, could be a sticky cable...Moved into Pitstop for ya Quote
Colin the Bear Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Just a thought. It hasn't got car oil in the engine has it? Quote
Guest Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 I changed the clutch plates, and well it wern't them... found the cable, and it was covered in thick black stuff, which was causing it... I wonder if the Throttle cable has the same to cause the flat spot there.... Quote
