Guest Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 I'm going to be riding through the mountains in Canada this summer, and I'm looking for a good Ladies jacket (my enduro jacket just won't cut it). In Canada, we don't have a whole lot of items in stock at shops, especially for women. I did find a Bering jacket I like, but only online "lady princess" (I know, the name...). I was wondering what people's opinion is on Bering clothing & whether anyone has this jacket & what they think? Quote
Korben Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Hi Jenn!!Drop into newbies and introduce yourself!! Sounds like you have an awesome trip ahead of you. Unfortunately I have never heard of that jacket, but hopefully someone will have... Quote
Guest Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Berings are good by reputation. Have a look for Halvarssons, they are scandinavian and exceptional stuff too. Quote
PMC Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 My girlfriend has a Bering Breva Lady jacket and trousers which she loves. The main reason she chose it was because it had the best fit (and isn't pink!) but we have ridden in some fairly bad rain and she's never been wet. She says the thermal lining is really good too. It came with CE approved Knox armour, including back protector. All in all, very happy. You can see some pics on my old thread from when we bought it. Quote
Guest Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 The breva is the only ladies Bering jacket I've found in a shop so far - I tried it on & really liked it for the same reasons - no pink & fits like it should on a woman. I was a bit hesitant because I'll be riding in summer and it doesn't have vents. Does she find that in the warm weather she's comfortable? The other jacket I'm looking at doesn't appear to have vents either. Also, did she happen to try on any other Bering jackets? I'm wondering if the sizing/fit is consistent between different models, since I can't try them on myself. thanks !!I'll have a look at the Halvarssons too. Quote
PMC Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 She tried a shorter one - the Lady Strada we think. It fit, but she wanted a longer jacket. It was pretty warm out today (23degC according to my dash) and even hotter during our training. When on the move (with the lining out) it's OK, but can get pretty hot if you're in traffic (or doing countless U-turns in a car park!). To be honest it's a great winter jacket, and certainly good for spring/autumn too, but we haven't ridden in any serious heat yet. We're going to France in July, and she thinks it'll be fine, but we expect to be on the autoroutes for a lot of the time. Not much use for you I expect... but we'll let you known in August! How hot do you expect it to be in Canada? Quote
Guest Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I would guess 25-30 degrees, just depends on my luck:) Quote
Jixerman Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I have a Bering jacket which is a three in one and covers winter, spring and summer.I used it to go to Vickis in Hull Left the linings in as I thought going north it would be cooler..............Wrong!!!!It has vents and without the linings its great in hot weather. Not really tested it in the rain yet though as I dont like getting my bike wet if I can help it.Maybe next year when I get a GSXR P.S OBVIOUSLY........ mines not a ladies one Quote
