Cheers guys, had a great day yesterday, good laugh, nice chips and curry and good company. Nice to get on some new roads, and thanks Darren for the advice on taking corners better. Been trying it ever since you said.

ah, it must have been neil and darren i saw on the ring road in huntingdon in the morning then - i knew it was you neil but i was unsure about the other chap.... as it was darren i'm surprised it didn't say "for sale" in the front. then i would have been sure!

what's the new cornering technique then?

Posted

Yep, would have been us, I went over to Chatteris to meet darren before we set off to Webbs. New cornering technique is to stop trying to act like a bloody racer and hang my arse over the seat (despite being told to do so). Apparently on a bike like mine I just need to sit on it and let the bike take the corner. Good advice though.....it works.

sounds very wise, I believe hanging off like a racer is only suitable for one place - the track.

you never see police riders hanging off their machines and they go a hell of a lot quicker than most of us!

Neil, glad your corners are coming together.

I'll try and get a babysitter sorted so we can plan that coast road ride......looking forward to it.

Got to Webbs 5-10 minutes after you left so... Turned left and bimbled across to Rutland Water for the 12:00 meet.

Lots of bikes but did not spot any forum stickers so had a drink & sausage roll and came back via S Luffenham, Corby, Thrapston. Some good roads!

Sorry you missed us, meet up next time!

Did you have a good day though?

Posted

Yep!

Trouble with the Sunday runs (bikes that is!), is that i don't get finished ringing the Church bells until 11:00am and, by the time I am kitted up and ready to leave, it is at least a quarter passed. Does not matter how quick I am, cannot get to Webbs in 15 minutes!

Our new babysitter isn't an early bird, so if you want a weekend ride out later in the day .......just give Tigger or I a shout.

Will see what we can sort out.
