Guest Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Right, i'm getting braided lines and overhauling the master cylinder, as the bike went into the shop with working brakes, charged me for some work, and came out with U/S brakes (Front), and to save money and embarrassment, i thought i'd do them myself.I've got the old lines off, the bikes been cleaned, and the master cylinder been stripped, parts on order, I need to get the plunger system out, have gotten the rubber boot off, and can see the circlip, but need to depress the plunger and remove the circlip at the same time.. so understand the job in hand, but how do i get my fingers in to push the plunger, and get the circlip pliers in... and hold the master cylinder.. small hands and not enough of them..Has any one on here done a master cylinder strip.. ohh and its a suzuki generic one for the Bandit, GS and GSX.. (good old Suzuki, keep it simple)..Once this has been done, its off for an MOT, but directly to the testing station, not through a dealer.. LATEST 5/6.have got myslef a circlip plier set and with a bit of jiggery pokery, have managed to depress the plunger and get the circlip out, its a bit fiddly, but will come out, main problem was the holes had filled themselves in, so had to poke them through to get the pliers in....Hope fully the seal kit, master cylinder bolts (getting stainless and new ones) brake switch and hoses will be here early next week so i can rebuild one evening.. ohh also fitted speed bleeders to the front calipers, will see how they go, and fit same to rear with rear stainless hose..10/6 - Hoses arrived today, managed to get a B12 set in full stainless by Earls, for the princely sum of £44 inc Del, two full length front lines and a rear. Fitted them this evening, so just waiting on MandP with the master cylinder service kit and brake switch, fingers crossed for tommorow.. Quote
