hi,

when my ignition is on, the lights are on, and the light switch wont turn on/off, it will go brighter and dull, but you can turn the ignition of and the lights are of, it's just the lights wont go off at all, when ignition is of.

Sounds like either the switch is buggered. Or more than likely. Theyre wired up so as they provide daylight running lights. Some bikes are like that. Most people always ride with them on anyways

have a look on google it could be that the SE was set up like this.. also is it an import? i know (on my 82 katana, the switch was set to on as they had as an issue of eating regulators/rectifiers, and this kept the voltage down..)

also check your air filter it might be the source of your hot starting (not) issue...

XV750, check out the Virago site, covers the XV750, (i know yours is pre-virago, but you've gotta have a name for a site...)

the boys and girls on there will have a better knowledge of all things XV.. including your lighting issue, whether its standard or not..

i thought most bikes had dipped beam on at all times, to help you be seen. All bikes i've seen recently are like this. The switch is just to change to full beam when it's needed
