Ive considered getting a visor but dont fancy spending £40 on something that will be no good to me if / when I change my helmet, does anybody know of any decent sunnies that fit nicely inside a helmet?

Hi. When I have my clear visor on I usually wear my Ray Ban Aviators. Nice and thin side arms that don't stick out and they don't get too squashed into the side of the helmet. Nice and comfortable indeed.

If you want to meet up sometime soon you can borrow them for a day and see how you get on with them, try before you buy kind of thing. :)

I can only tell you what I do.. I look for sunnys that don't have hooked arms, a bit like Oakley, just not as expensive!!

Far easier to put on I personally find.

Police helmets (Shoei Multitec off the top of my head...)have grooves in the padding just so you can comfortably wear sunnies!

Failing that I'd go with what Paul said about aviators. I got some from a shop just off Camden Market for £11.95 and they are the shit. They even have thin wire that goes round your ears so they don't move around when you're doing a loop the loop (so if you do come off you'll still look cool no matter how many times you tumble over!). They even come with a nice hard case to put them in. Here they are:

EDIT: I can also see where Dan is coming from as well. If you think you may be having to take the sun glasses off then hooked arms aren't great. The aviators are superb if you know you'll be leaving them on though.

just get a visor, if you come off in sunglasses and they smash then your eyes are fooked....

how long do you plan on having your lid.. a visors easier you have it with you.. or get a helmet with the internal visors.. normal and tinted.. like a jet pilot..

otherwise wraparound plastic sunnies..

racevisors.co.uk have aftermarket visors for around 30 quid. free visor bag too. they're way better than shades and if you were going to get some decent shades, they'd cost more than a visor!

or get a hjc with internal visor if you're going to be getting a new lid anytime soon...

My Caberg Justissimo has the fighter pilot tinted internal visor. It's a good idea - but I find it mists up all the time, making it pretty much useless.

If you have a pinlock on your visor, look for a tinted insert. If not, you can get the visor drilled for a pinlock, and buy a tinted insert anyway.

even with the internal visor i reckon you would have one hell of a black eye if you headbutt the ground

also if you change your lid just get the same make, that what i do as shoei fit me the best

Thing is I bought a new agv and my old agv visor system is different, but would still avoid sunnies no matter what you do they annoy you by moving about!

Buy a visor, i mean how often do you change your lid!

Thanks for all the advice everybody

To be honest Id probably be changing my lid next year as I wanted to get that one with the glasses inside and the face that lifts up, I hadnt even considered what would happen with sunnies on if I came off, its important to look cool when you crash but it wouldnt be cool if one of the lenses came out, then Id just look stupid!

So I need a fixs for the next year or so, I guess I could always squint as that would be cheaper, but I need some decent sunnies anyway......hmmmm.....should I ride the lightning???!?!?!?

No, sod it, Im gona order myself a visor, I can keep this lid as a spare anyway!

I wear Eyelevel sports Sunglasses Which are Biker CE cat3 approved (whatever That is).

They fit perfect nice and snug around the eye socket and the arms just slide in no problem they very very rarely move about even when doing lifesavers. Great in this weather as you can ride about with your visor open and eyes protected.

I got them from biker bits when they were at Rivvi barn £13 on the day.

As soon as you put a pair on you'll want some.
