MRBLUESKY Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 i am having a nightmare with this bike GSF 400 , major problems with getting it started, seamed to be a fuel problem or a vacuum issue be start with as it would start if i blew fuel down the pipe.question , should the fuel filter be full all the time ? mine fills up to about 25% capacity and tops up from there.work doneI have changed the plugs and even fitted a new carb rack.i dont think i have done something silly like mixing up the plugs but its got to be considered now as im running out of ideasHOW CAN I DOUBLE CHJECK IF THE PLUGS ARE IN THE CORRECT ORDER?can anyone offer a novice some assistance with this please as ive no more hair left to pull out Quote
Guest Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 if your plugs were in the wrong order it would fire and sound like a bag of spanners.. lead lengths and time formed bends make it a bit more obvious of what goes where,..is your vacuum pipe on at both ends.. mine became disconnected at the tank and sounded rough, and eventually went off, as there was no over pressure on the fuel ..just noticed you've fitted a new carb rack did you clean this and check it, or just install it, i take it, it was 2nd hand... could be its gummed up inside.. MRBLUESKY Posted June 25, 2009 Author Posted June 25, 2009 HIive checked the plugs they where ok. its starting now but stull does not idle , still sounds like its not getting a consistant steady flow of fuel as it revs up and down and eventually stalls. any ideas Quote
