simon93 Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 I just bought a new Gilera DNA 50, and was riding it in my garden in prepration for my CBT, just to get the feel of as bike. I was doing fine until i wanted to stop, and the throttle wouldnt close all the way, it was entirely my fault, as i couldnt twist my wrist all the way back round to stop the bike, so i eventually managed to grind to a halt, smashing an indicator when i at last dropped it! Just wondering if theres any advice for things like this, as it has shaken me up a bit. I havent got any riding experience before now, just entering the biking world. Any helps appreciated, and sorry if this has already been mentioned, i did have a check, but im new to these forums! Thanks. Quote
rennie Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 hello simon and welcome to TMBF Stick a post up in the newbies section and say hello As for your problem, I'm not sure I understand did the throttle stick open? or did you panic and keep it twisted?I suppose the answer is to practice somewhere with more room Quote
Korben Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Welcome to the forum mate.Sounds to me like your throttle twist grip is sticking. It should snap close when you let go of it. Quote

Next time release the throttle or realx your arm and let the wrist rool forward.if the throttle is sticking open, then check the run of the cable could be it is trapped.. or needs oiling.. Quote
simon93 Posted July 6, 2009 Author Posted July 6, 2009 Thanks everyone! I've been having a look at the throttle cable and all that, seems alright though, i think WalneyFrankie was probably right, i just need to relax a lot more! Quote
