kwakkwak Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Can you wreck the battery if you have a little spill???I hit a pot hole in the car park at work and went down with the bike at very low speed (5mph max). Luckily no visible damage as the bike landed on me.Re-started fine and ridden the short 2 miles to home. Got up the following day and switched on the ignition...... nothing!!! No lights, no dash lights, no nothing. Checked main fuse - OK. Checked voltage in battery - 3V only!!!So my question is "could the spill have wrecked the battery and if so how?" Quote
Guest Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 shouldnt do but check and see if it shorted out on the frame.. causing an open circuit and loss of battery voltage.. will be scorching.. also check both leads are nice and tightly connected.. get an optimate on it and see how you go..and whats a Kwakak doing riding a Yammy? kwakkwak Posted July 8, 2009 Author Posted July 8, 2009 Can't see any signs of a short or split cable so gonna recharge the battery and see what happens. Quote
Colin the Bear Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 The voltage regulator is low on the frame on the 535. Might have had a clout. Check the fluid level in the battery too. And......................look where you're going Quote
