Hi; I'm sort of new but I was just wondering, if I pass my test at 17 meaning I am limited to a 33bhp restriction for two years. Do I still need my 'L' Plates on the bike for those two years or can I ride without them.

It may seem like a stupid question but I see lots of people riding round on super-sport bikes with 'L' plates and I was just wondering about it.

Thanks a bunch

Hello pop a hi in newbie's if your planning to stay and no you dont once you pass a atest bin em

Are you sure those " super sports" bikes aren't 125's?

They probably are, the wanabee's!!

For example the aprilia rs 125 looks like a 600 but is only a 125 2 stroke

Nope, like Techno says you dont need em once you pass, even on a restricted license. There are one hell of a lot of 125s these days like the aprilia rs125, gilera sc125, derbi gpr 125, reiju 125, yzf r125 and even the cbr125 that have the looks of "supersports". Apart from the cbr they arent that much diffence in size (still quite a bit lighter in most cases). A mate who has an rs pulled up next to my ninja and it was a bit lower and shorter, but that was about it.

they're 125cc bikes with CBT riders... the 125cc yamaha is very nice and a Baby R6 style, but still a 125cc..

Saw one of them yesterday for the first time. Couldn't believe it.. was sure it was a bigger bike, till i saw around the petrol tank...

If you pass your test, your restricted in bike terms, but you dont need L plates, as you have passed your test. Anyone using L plates has basically just done a CBT.
