XmisterIS Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 When I did my bike test, among the bumf that came with the test certificate was a flyer from a company called Ultraseal.I have had it knocking around for a while, not sure if I should go for it, or if it is a waste of money. Here's the website: http://www.ultraseal.bizThe product itself is called Puncturesafe.Has anyone else used it? Verdict? Quote
Guest Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 i've seen the demos at bike shows, club days, and after getting a puncture last year was considering this, sounds good, but just would like feedback, so will be watching your replies... Quote
Colin the Bear Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 I think they trade on paranoia and fear. What if??? Most tyre deflation happens slowly. I watched a guy at a stunt show burn out the back tyre till it burst then do wheelies on it. A puncture is more annoying than dangerous in my experience. Quote
Guest Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 It's not so much the explosive deflation that would worry me but having to wait at the roadside for someone to fetch the correct replacement and fit it - or be piggy-backed home on a truck.Getting home would be my priority. Quote
Roadtorque Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 I've wondered about this stuff for a while & can't make my mind up if it's good or bad, that green goo stuff goes in the tyre & stays as goo,, my thoughts are, that bike parked overnight, all this stuff settles at the bottom of the tyre & must affect balancewhen you first when you jump on for next ride,,,,,the other system that blows up and seals the tyre in one go,, well I wouldn't hold my breath,,although I must admit I bought one, (reduced in tesco) with trip round Scotland planed &some of the roads we would be going on, thought it might be worth a try & if it works all well & good, but as I say, I wouldn't hold my breath,,one thing's for certain,, you ain't going to be Mr popular when you take your tyre to be changed Quote
