Hi all, Just bought this bike and I was told that it isnt used often enough and has developed a mis-fire.

The person that is selling it to me says that it is down to the carbs being a bit mucky.

Is this the most likely cause or could there be anything more sinister to this bike?

Thanks.

I would say that is is the most likely cause, but if you are in doubt you could always take it to a garage to be looked at.

Might be an electrical fault, which can be a ****** to find. 8-)

+1 Running a weak battery can cause reg/rectifier failures, which left can lead to cdi failures on some Suzuki's. Check the plugs/leads and then get some fresh petrol through the carbs first before you do anything else. There coulkd be some stale petrol thats gone waxy in them that needs clearing.

This bike was a project and has been done up and had electrics sorted out and just passed its MOT easily. I imagine as the owner says that it isnt used enough and has now developed a mis-fire. Ill take that to mean waxy fuel has clogged up the carbs. So some new petrol and some high revving to clear its throat and I imagine it will be fine. :D

Thanks for the help guys.
