I've previously heard of a product that you can attach to your helmet and can sense sudden whacks, quite simply to let you know when your helmet's taken a knock that could make it worth replacing.

I give my helmet quite alot of light knocks as my bike is my sole transport and so i use it for everything - but does anyone know where i can buy one from as i forgot!

Do a search for stick on g-meter, or sensor I think that might be what you are thinking of, they are usually used when sending sensitive packages by post. I'm not sure if you can still get them though.

would be interesting. i hear they go red to tell you so if you did crash. and it burst might be funny for you when the driver sees its "blood"

also would be interesting to see how easily theyset off. just remember not to stick it on the front of your helm. a fly might set it off :P

How inattentive would you have to be not to notice a whack on the head capable of damaging your helmet?http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z28/Colin_the_bear/101131.gifhttp://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z28/Colin_the_bear/0083.gif

Good point, but it would be a handy thing to have at certain times such as when forced to hand over the helmet at a cinema. I started a thread a while ago about that and it seems it's the norm for cinema staff to have the helmet off you. Would be good to have a sensor to see if it's been dropped whilst in their care...

i just had a thought. this sticker is all good and dandy. but there is a big design flaw. and thats multiple drops. chances are this wont set off from a low fall however if you drop it say 3 or 4 times there will deffo be some significant damage. you should ask :)

if you drop it, especially outside then the paintwork is going to suffer, its own tell-tale thats its time to shop..

and if i had a thingy fitted, gave it in (cinema) and it came out with the red tag illuminated then i don't know how you would stand on a getting a replacement/reimbursed.. some places can be a PITA... prefer to keep mine with me or put it in a mates car.. after all women can take handbags in, and some of them are like the tardis...

rofl tardis is pro :) i take myne in the cinema and dont give it too them its usually not a problem. but thats cuz they once broke the heel on my acoustic guitar and i flipped and almost hit a guy -.- i payed 400 pound for that beast and was not happy
