Startor motor on a bike i am goin to look at tomorow is in need of a replace.

The brushes are worn down quite bad... now do you think any brushes(universal) would replace them?

or a whole new startor motor is the way to go?

Replacing the brushes is always worth a try. You can make some out of an over sized pair with a Swiss file and a little patience. Clean and polish the commutator too. Check the motor over with a multi meter if anything looks burned. 8-)
