Ratser Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 This is gonna seem like a really stupid question to the more mechanically minded. Was going to order some bobbins for a paddock stand for the new bike. However, how do you measure the diameter of the thread ?The online stores have either 6, 8 or 10mm.Doesn't give me any info about the hole guage in the manual, so is there a way of measing the thread properly ?Is there not some special way to measure a threaded hole ?Apologies if this seems really stupid. TC Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Ratser TBH mate i would go for an "abba" stand over a paddock stand much easrier and safer for a one man lift.http://www.abbastands.co.uk/ Quote
Ratser Posted August 3, 2009 Author Posted August 3, 2009 Cheers for that TC, that actually looks a lot easier. Was only thinkig of paddocks stand bobbins as I actually have paddock stands already. But this makes more sense, thanks. Quote
Voodoo Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I've got an Abba stand and I think they're great but a little bit pricey. To find out if your bobbins are M6, M8 or M10 just measure the width of the hole. Quote
