About how much would this work cost?

Hey folks,

Just looking at new bikes and I was wondering how much I should expect a to pay for this work:

A new front tyre.

Replace pitted brakes (front and back)

Possibly replace the cans (two).

Just looking a guestimate so that I can factor in the extra costs into the price.

Thanks!

I assume you mean pitted brake disks...

A new front tyre. - 80 quid

Replace pitted brakes (front and back) - (120-150+ each) 360-450 quid

Possibly replace the cans (two). - (100-200+ each) 2-400+

End result - probably don't buy it.

On the upside, anything you replace will be new. Pointing out the faults on a bike to the owner and explaining your reduced offer reflects this, is a good haggling start point. 8-)

Am i being silly again or cant you just replace your break disks yourself?

You can buy them online so why not?

You can replace them yourself, but its the cost of the actual disc thats the killer.

:stupid:

if your having new rubber fitted, and dont have the stands to take the wheel off, the dealer's gonna need to take the wheel off, so may as well do the discs, its not a long job, and if changing discs, you need to change pads,..

for parts, have a look at wemoto.com
