Guest Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Hi guys I have a few issues with my bike leaking oil and I want to take it to a good place, I normally go to transit but I don't know if I can trust them with engine stuff and they are a bit expensive to say the least, can anybody recommend a good mechanic? Thanks Quote
kwakkwak Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Never had any problems with Transit, engine problems and electrical. Shop around but you will find the price higher or around the same but whatever you do don't come to Harrogate, all 3 bike shops are a rip-off. Quote
Guest Mr Miller Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 I know I have to be carefull what I say here.........I only have experience with one of 'em....and have to agree that 'twas a tad on the expensive side.....and they didn't fit the Scottoiler correctly!Hey ho, as Joey said, you live and learn! Guest Mr Miller Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Ak.I know Scottoilers are relatively easy to fix but I'd not had my bike for long and wanted it doing properly. After some time had passed, I was wondering if the thing was working, I had a shufty and a realised there was a huuuuuge air bubble trapped in the delivery tube! After a bit of priming & blowing.....or was it the other way round?.....I got the reservoir & delivery tube chock full of oil, started her up and adjusted and running at the correct rate!I wasn't sure if I'd got their Saturday lad on his first day or the lad who's leaving.....or just had a bit of bad luck! Who knows - but even so, should someone not be checking? Quality Control and all that?!They may have improved since then (earlier this year, around Feb or March).......but reading your post - obviously not!At least we know for next time, eh?Cheers matey!Mr. M.
