Guest Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Hi,I was wondering - Do any of you know of any online resources I could use to learn more about bikes general/engines?I don't own a bike......yet; and i work 7 days a week but I get to spend nearly all day on the internet hence the need for an online resource. I plan to get a bike as soon as business picks up and would love to be a little less ingorant about the workings before I do.Any help is always well appreciated. Quote
Guest Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 what are you looking to learn, theory, workshop, ....A haynes manual will guide you through the strip down and rebuild.. but an engine would help with the learning process, Breakers yard...?engine theory 2 stroke, 4 stroke...http://encyclopedia.farlex.com/2-stroke+enginehttp://encyclopedia.farlex.com/4-stroke+engine Quote
Guest Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I used to have a Haynes Manual for the R1 but I think I lost it. I'm ideally looking to learn the theoretical side of things at work; and then in my weekend job I can practice those theories. Quote
Guest Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 you could have a read through our Guides, Manuals and gen info thread, lots of stuff in there..http://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/view ... 27&start=0 Quote
Bill_on_a_bike Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Start basic, read an explanation of how a 4 stroke works, all the words / theorys /ideas you don't get, go and look up, and look up all the stuff you don't know in that one too. Pretty much anything you want to know can be found on google. Quote
